A couple of us were highly amused a few months back when the Pattaya City Expats club hosted a lecture by local pedagogue Thor Halland on the subject of the ‘Sociopath around us’. While Mr. Halland insisted that the sociopath named was another person we were suspicious that it was really about our old friend Drew .It seem Drew thought so too since he dispatched on of his cronies to try and stop Mr. Halland from talking .He failed to have him banned and also failed to disrupt him by talking loudly during his lecture.
We were introduced to a list of sociopath indicators which we found matched Drew so well that we thought we would share them with you. Googling sociopathic indicators came up with a number of sites sharing pretty much identical information.
Essentially It seems a Dr. Hare is the expert on this and has a 20 point recognition plan which we have matched to Mr. Noyes
They are as Follows
. GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM -- the tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Psychopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything. A psychopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example.
If ever there was a description of Noyes this is it – oozing superficial charm with a rictus grin at every occasion.
2. GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH -- a grossly inflated view of one's abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated,****, a braggart. Psychopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.
This is a man who told everyone he organized a worlds fair while instead he helped out on a hot dog stand. This is a man who claims the Governor asks him for lists of foreigners who are not desirable. this is a man who even claims he has the ear of the King himself !
3. NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM -- an excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky. Psychopaths often have a low self-discipline in carrying tasks through to completion because they get bored easily. They fail to work at the same job for any length of time, for example, or to finish tasks that they consider dull or routine.
Noyes cannot even get to a meeting on time . he habitually arrives late at any occasion and leaves after he has had his 5 minutes in the limelight.
4. PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.
Noyes never stops lying – about his past ,about his ‘Uncle Charlie ‘ in the CIA who fixes everything, about his qualifications, about his links with the government,in his business practices,to his wife even to people who are his closest friends he lies and lies and lies.
5. CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- the use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.
Noyes will defraud anyone – a woman who has nothing to live on but her divorce settlement, friends he has known for years ,he even overcharges people who work for him to live in his poky little apartments.
6. LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and unempathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.
Noyes Couldn’t care less about anyone else
7. SHALLOW AFFECT -- emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.
Noyes cannot stay faithfull to anyone – he beats up his wife and sexually abuses his female staff even in front of other staff
8. CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.
This is a man who openly admits that he couldn’t care less about being on time to meetings IN HIS OWN OFFICE. He humiliates friends and allies alike .
9. PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.
He flits from Idea to Idea and it’s always about other people’s money and never just about plain hard work
10. POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.
He appears calm but we have evidence he beats up his wife and claims he has gangster friends who will stop her leaving him.
11. PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR -- a variety of brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs, and an indiscriminate selection of sexual partners; the maintenance of several relationships at the same time; a history of attempts to sexually coerce others into sexual activity or taking great pride at discussing sexual exploits or conquests.
This guy can’t stop – He has endless Mia Nois and the illigitemate children to go with it .Not to mention a stream of prostitutes to saitisy his insatiable demand for sex.
12. EARLY BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS -- a variety of behaviors prior to age 13, including lying, theft, cheating, vandalism, bullying, sexual activity, fire-setting, glue-sniffing, alcohol use, and running away from home.
Here we don’t know – until we hear more about his past.
13. LACK OF REALISTIC, LONG-TERM GOALS -- an inability or persistent failure to develop and execute long-term plans and goals; a nomadic existence, aimless, lacking direction in life.
He flits from plan to plan ,never succeeding.
14. IMPULSIVITY -- the occurrence of behaviors that are unpremeditated and lack reflection or planning; inability to resist temptation, frustrations, and urges; a lack of deliberation without considering the consequences; foolhardy, rash, unpredictable, erratic, and reckless.
This describes his entire way of life – he thinks he’s the master of the universe –instead he is just the author of his own failure
15. IRRESPONSIBILITY -- repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.
Allways late,never pays people back defaults on contracts .
16. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.
It’s always someone else’s fault with Drew as he always tells us ‘No good deed goes unpunished
.
17. MANY SHORT-TERM MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS -- a lack of commitment to a long-
term relationship reflected in inconsistent, undependable, and unreliable commitments in life, including marital.
As described above he’s been divorced ,has endless affairs –in short a marital loser.
18. JUVENILE DELINQUENCY -- behavior problems between the ages of 13-18; mostly behaviors that are crimes or clearly involve aspects of antagonism, exploitation, aggression, manipulation, or a callous, ruthless tough-mindedness.
We Don’t know about his adolescence but he didn’t make college ? Why not he’s a middle class kid who by his own admission went to an expensive prep school – I wonder what they thought of him
19. REVOCATION OF CONDITION RELEASE -- a revocation of probation or other conditional release due to technical violations, such as carelessness, low deliberation, or failing to appear.
He appears to have fled US legal jurisdiction
20. CRIMINAL VERSATILITY -- a diversity of types of criminal offenses, regardless if the person has been arrested or convicted for them; taking great pride at getting away with crimes.
We don’t know the full extent .time will tell
According to Doctor Hare 8 of these indicators indicates a high likely hood of Sociopathy we are definte about 18 of them.
